Early Life

David Henrie was born David Clayton Henrie on July 11, 1989, in Mission Viejo, California. He is the son of talent manager Linda Henrie and producer James Wilson Henrie, who used to work in real estate. His younger brother, Lorenzo James Henrie, is an actor known for playing Chris Manawa on the AMC series "Fear the Walking Dead." David's maternal grandparents immigrated to the U.S. from Italy. Henrie's family moved to Arizona when he was two years old, and he grew up in Phoenix. On his official website, he states, "By age five, I was doing local print and commercials. When I was 9 years old, at a regional commercial shoot, this New York director pulled my mom aside and told me that he really believes I had 'what it takes' and should go to Hollywood. That's all it took for my Mom to hear because that summer, at age 10, we packed up and headed for California! As fate would have it, I booked my very first audition for Burger King, and just so that no one could say it was beginners luck, I booked my very second audition for Quaker Oats. My mom was sold, and for the next two years I studied at prominent acting schools in Los Angeles in scene study, improvisation, theater and cold reading, while I was auditioning and booking roles, and not to mention playing elite travel ice-hockey."
