China Anne McClain was born on August 25, 1998 in Decatur, Georgia to songwriter and screenwriter Shontell and music producer Michael. She has two older sisters, Sierra and Lauryn, who are both also actresses and singers, and a younger brother named Gabriel.
Television Career
McClain landed her first major television role in 2006, as Jazmine Payne on the sitcom "Tyler Perry's House of Payne." She went on to appear in the majority of the show's seasons. After having guest roles on "Hannah Montana" and "NCIS" in 2009, McClain played the recurring role of Kiara Tyshana in the second season of the Disney Channel series "Jonas" in 2010. The year after that, she began playing the main role of musical prodigy Chyna Parks on the Disney Channel teen sitcom "A.N.T. Farm." The show ran for three seasons until 2014. McClain subsequently competed on the ABC reality singing show "Sing Your Face Off," winning the series' first and only season. After that, she appeared in two Tyler Perry films: "Madea's Family Reunion" and "Daddy's Little Girls," the latter alongside her sisters. In 2009, McClain was in the direct-to-DVD basketball drama film "Hurricane Season." Kicking off the next decade, she played the daughter of Maya Rudolph's and Chris Rock's characters in the comedy "Grown Ups." McClain reprised her role in the 2013 sequel "Grown Ups 2." Music Career
McClain began her music career in 2005 when she formed the girl group 3mcclaingirls with her sisters Sierra and Lauryn. That year, the group released the single "Silly Games," featuring Tiff Mic. In 2007, 3mcclaingirls released the single "Daddy's Girl," from the film "Daddy's Little Girls." The group changed its name to the McClain Sisters in 2010 and signed with Hollywood Records in 2011. At the end of 2013, the McClain Sisters was renamed McClain. The group went on to tour the United States throughout 2014.
