Early Life
Aimee Garcia was born Aimee Sandimés Garcia López de Ordóñez on November 28, 1978, in Chicago, Illinois. Her mother, Eloisa, graduated from the dental school at Northwestern University and came from Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico, and her father, Hector, is a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces and came from San Juan, Puerto Rico. Aimee began acting in television commercials during her childhood, and she started appearing in theatrical productions at the age of seven. She graduated from Fenwick High School in 1996, and she studied acting at Piven Theatre Workshop. After graduation, Garcia enrolled at Northwestern University and majored in French, economics, and journalism. As a college student, she performed in local plays and musicals, but after she graduated, she gave up acting for a year and worked for a Brooklyn mutual fund analyst. In the early 2000s, Aimee moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career.

Garcia made her film debut in 1996's "The Homecoming," and she followed it with "Betaville" (2001), "The Good Girl" (2002), "D.E.B.S." Personal Life
In May 2021, it was announced that Aimee had joined the ownership group of the National Women's Soccer League team the Chicago Red Stars. She has also thrown out the opening pitch at Chicago Cubs games at Wrigley Field several times. In a 2019 interview with the "Chicago Tribune," Garcia stated, "I'm from Chicago. I hustle. I work hard. I don't take things for granted. I know it could all be taken away. My parents and my friends from Chicago keep me really grounded. I feel like it's not what you've done, it's what you're doing and what you're going to do."

Garcia has received two ALMA Award nominations, winning for Special Achievement in Television for "Dexter" in 2013. Her other nomination was for Outstanding Supporting Actress – Television Series, Mini-Series or Television Movie for "George Lopez" (2007). Aimee also earned an Imagen Foundation Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress – Television for "George Lopez" in 2007, and in 2012, the "Dexter" cast received a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for "Dexter."
