You haven't heard the last of Bob Weir.

Although he just completed the Grateful Dead's farewell shows in July, he's still planning to release new music, including a "cowboy tune" more than 50 years in the making.

You can listen to part of that ballad, "Blue Mountain," in this teaser for Dan Rather's Big Interview, which was filmed in April but will air on AXS TV on Aug. 11 at 8 p.m. ET.

"Blue Mountain," which was unfinished at the time of this interview, and other tracks on Weir's upcoming album were inspired by his job as a summer ranch hand in Wyoming when he was 15 years old. The album doesn't have a name or release date yet.

In The Big Interview teaser, Weir also talks about his writing process ("slow as a slug in a trance"), his old guitar he found on Craigslist, the dyslexia that affects the way he writes music as well as his time playing country blues with his late bandmate Jerry Garcia.
