The CW has found its young Carrie Bradshaw!
AnnaSophia Robb has landed the coveted role in the network’s Sex and the City prequel pilot The Carrie Diaries. She’ll play the role made famous by Sarah Jessica Parker in the long-running HBO hit.
Best known for feature film roles, Robb is a good catch for the network. She was in Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory remake and starred in Soul Surfer and Bridge to Terabithia. She’s also playing Wendy in an upcoming remake of Peter Pan.
Robb joins Stefania Owen (Running Wilde) who will play Bradshaw’s 14-year-old sister Dorrit in the show, which is set during Bradshaw’s high school years in the 1980s. The show is produced by Fake Empire in association with Warner Bros. Television. Executive producers: Amy B. Harris, Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage, Len Goldstein, Candace Bushnell, Miguel Arteta.
