About personalisation of Javascript profiles
2
Hello, thank for letting my participate in this group. My name is Rodrigo and I'm looking for embedded javascript interpreter for IoT devices, and I choose Jerry script for its good reputation and some benchmarks I found on internet which compares its performance with ducktape and where Jerry script overcomes the first one. I read in the documentation that it is possible to build jerryscript using different profiles (jerry-core/profiles/*.profile) However, I found this profiles very coarse-grain. I wonder if there is a way to selectively disable more features of Jerry script than the ones specified in the minimal profile, to shrink the interpreter size according to the requirements of the program we want to port to IoT. For example, if the js systems does not make use of string or dates types, removing this functionality. My main objective would be than given an existing js system, be able to miniaturize it to fit in a specific platform (rbpi, particle photon, ESP32, etc). Thanks for your comments. Kind regards, Rodrigo.

Zidong will leave Intel this week
Hi Dear I will leave Intel this week, and then join in iQiyi. My new job will focus on the computer vision, and seems far away from JS engine/runtime. Sorry that I maybe not so active in the community in a long time, but I will continue watching this project and try fixing the bugs related to my code. I really hope more and more products have “JerryScript Inside” next year, and I am looking forward to the release of our product. (Martijn and I are working for whole years). My personal email address: jiangzidong89@... (I will also change my Github mail to this) Let’s keep in touch! Thanks, Zidong

JerryScript Workshop 2017 - Venue & Travel Information
6
JerryScript Workshop 2017
September 14-15, 2017
Szeged, Hungary
Registration (Reminder)
Attending the workshop is free of charge but advance registration is required.
If you plan to attend, please fill in the form at:
https://goo.gl/forms/ZU9ZOq2I50Y9fDi63
Venue
The workshop will be hosted by the Department of Software Engineering,
University of Szeged in Szeged, Hungary. The address of our offices is:
Dugonics ter 13
6720 Szeged
Hungary
Map: https://www.google.hu/maps/place/Szeged,+Dugonics+t%C3%A9r+13,+6720/@46.249733,20.1437113,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x474488704c926a75:0x6e3d55a4cfc8978e!8m2!3d46.249733!4d20.1459
Getting to Szeged
Most of you will want to fly in, which means that you will arrive to Budapest
Liszt Ferenc Airport, Terminal 2. (There are no more international airports in
Hungary with regular flights or any more terminals at BUD, so you cannot mix
things up there.) This is cca. 160 kms / 100 miles from us.
From there, you have 3 major options: train, taxi, drive.
- Drive: Several international car rental companies have offices at BUD, but as
always, it is advised to rent a car well in advance (online). The airport is
connected to Szeged via highways (route 4, ring M0, and M5 straight to
Szeged), so you should get here in 1.5 hours, roughly. Speed limit is 110 km/h
on M0 (and on other expressways), 130 km/h on M5 (and on other freeways),
90 km/h on other roads outside city boundaries, and 50 km/h in urban areas. Of
course, always watch for signs, other speed limits can be in effect anywhere.
Also note that the M5 is a toll road for which the fee must be paid in
advance, so ask your car rental company whether you are already covered. If
not, you will have to buy a so-called e-Vignette or e-Sticker at the first gas
station on the M0 (which is toll-free). You'll most probably need a D1 type
sticker (for cars) for 10 days (the shortest time frame), which costs around
3000 HUF. (You will only receive a paper slip in return that does not stick.
That's not a fraud, the stickers became "e-" some years ago, and the validity
is checked by cameras scanning the license plates.) Drive safely!
- Taxi: Actually, you should not take a real taxi on site. That will be really
expensive. But there are several private airport shuttle service companies
that run between BUD and Szeged. Usually, these have to be booked in advance
and most often you are not the only passenger in the minibus. It can also
happen that you have to wait at BUD until all passengers that are scheduled
for the same shuttle arrive. (But even if your flight is delayed, they wait for
you, too.) Of course, if you pay extras, you get extras, so you can get your
own private shuttle if your budget allows. We are not officially affiliated
with any shuttle service company but I know that we have used the services of
Pegazus Transfer before (http://pegazustranszfer.hu/en_EN/fooldal).
- Train: Direct trains run between Ferihegy (Budapest Airport) Station and
Szeged between 6am and 8pm on an hourly basis with a travel time of 2 hours.
Ferihegy station is NOT in walking distance from the airport so you better
take the 200E bus (which stops at BUD arrival level). Unfortunately, the
ride is not free, so you must either buy a ticket at the vending machine next
to the bus stop (should accept credit/debit cards) or directly from the bus
driver (accepts cash in HUF only). A single bus ticket should cost you around
350 HUF. Tickets for the train can be purchased online or at the train station
as well and one way will cost you somewhere between 3400 HUF and 4400 HUF
depending on carriage class and seat reservation.

Getting around in Szeged
Once in Szeged, you will probably have everything in walking distance. But we
have public transportation (http://szkt.hu/en) and taxis
(http://szegedtourism.hu/en/taxi-companies/), of course. (You may need a tram
or a taxi if you arrive by train.)
Hotels
In Szeged, you have several options to choose from, booking.com lists 100+ sites
you can stay at. We are not affiliated with any of the hotels but many of our
partners stayed at Art Hotel Szeged (https://artszeged.accenthotels.com/en) or
at the Hotel Dom (http://domhotelszeged.info/eng/) before. Both hotels are just
200 meters from our offices.
Visa
If you need visa to enter Hungary / the EU and you need an invitation letter,
please send an e-mail to akiss@... including the following
information: name (as in documents), gender, date and place of birth, home
address, nationality, passport number, and affiliation. If you are aware of any
other requirements imposed by the consulate you'll submit the visa application
to, please mention it in the email.
Miscellaneous
The local currency is HUF, Hungarian Forint. The exchange rates are around
305-310 HUF/EUR, 260-265 HUF/USD, 340 HUF/GBP, and 38-40 CNY/HUF. A lot of
places accept credit/debit cards (mostly Mastercard and Visa, AmEx is not that
popular but can happen) but you better have some cash with you.
Electricity is 230V @ 50 Hz with type F sockets.
http://www.wikiconnections.org/power-supplies/continents/europe/what-can-i-connect-to-a-hungarian-power-supply
The venue will have free wifi connection for all participants. If you have a
roaming data plan then you will also find quite good 4G coverage in other parts
of Szeged (or Hungary).
Should you have any questions not covered here (or not covered clearly and
extensively enough!), please raise your voice on the mailing list or in a
private mail!
Looking forward to see you in Szeged,
Akos & all the local team

Community call meeting notes 23 August
2
Here:
=======================
Laszlo (Uni Szeged)
Vincent (Hop.js)
Jan (ARM)
Sanggyu (Samsung)
Martijn (Intel)
Zidong (Intel)
Rob (ARM)
=======================
REMINDER: send topics to Akos
Jan: Look into mbedos5 target beginning next week.
Laszlo: Akos will make Google Doc for the topics. Szeged is on holiday, working mostly on maintainance, some bugs were posted on GitHub. WebIDE, debugger topics.
Martijn: How were the bugs found? Laszlo: No reply yet, perhaps a fuzzer. Bugs were security bugs, memory exploits, etc. Looks like he used a tool called memcheck. https://github.com/jerryscript-project/jerryscript/issues/created_by/corporateshill
Martijn has some side project to do static code analysis for Jerry. Will continue.
Vincent: nothing new on our side. Visited a conference in July in South of France, spoke about embedded JavaScript. Video is in French.
Sanggyu: Also looking into the security issues that were raised.
Martijn: Not much on open-source Jerry. Was working on the Emscripten simulator, will be continue working on that next iteration. Re: f2f, Zidong wants to talk about Intel contributions, Martijn wants to show APIs that have been built for UI stuff. Also trying to implement draft W3C sensor API proposal. Zephyr already using the API, so should not double the work.
Zidong: Working on internal project in Intel with Martijn.
Rob: Out of the loop for quite a while. Hope to get back into the know in f2f.
Martijn: Is the f2f list of attendees published? Laszlo: not yet. But we can share it. Akos will do it.

Rob (ARM)
Laszlo
-------
* Summit (transport to Szeged?)
* Jan at FullStack
* Jan talked with Espruino and Tessel
* Module work landed?
-------
* Akos sent out information on how to get from Budapest to Szeged. 14+15 September.
* Jan at FullStack https://skillsmatter.com/skillscasts/10361-javascript-all-the-things
* Do we need to standardize JavaScript Hardware APIs in W3C?
* Martijn: sees more in low-level driver implementation, so C APIs that are shared between Jerry implementations.
* W3C sensor API specification might solve these needs already.
* Module work all done? Seems so.
* Martijn: is IoT.js being used in any production product? A: not now. Being used internally, no concrete plan to adoption. Need more time.
* Martijn and Zidong have budget approval for the JS summit.
* Jerry updates from Intel: Zidong exposing memory statistics. JavaScript call to get memory stats. Similar to `window.performance.memory` in node.js. Already internal API, now exposing it to JerryScript core.
* Simulated implementation of JerryScript in Emscripten. Martijn working on it since November, now continued working on it. Provide a substitute of the Jerry C implementation (public API), reimplemented in JavaScript so it's easier to debug using normal browser debugger.
Next call 9 August in the EU afternoon!

ask about the traffic between budapest airport and szeged university
4
Hi, friends in Szeged
The workshop will be held in Szeged University, but there is no flight between shanghai and Szeged. So I plan to arrive at Budapest, then go to Szeged. (Or do you have any better idea?)
But I can’t drive, so can you suggest what is the convent traffic plan from Budapest to Szeged?
Thanks,
Zidong
