Before you start

• Stripe supports most hardware security keys. It’s compatible with any security key that implements FIDO U2F or FIDO2 standards.
• Use a modern browser that supports WebAuthn.

Set up hardware security key two-step authentication

1. Open the Personal details page on the Stripe Dashboard.
2. Under the Two-step authentication section, click Add authentication method.
3. Select Add security key.
4. When your browser prompts you, plug in and tap your security key. The prompt display may look different depending on your browser.
5. Enter a name for your security key. This helps distinguish it from other security keys if you add more.
6. Write down the backup code shown and store it in a safe place.

At your next sign-in, you can use your hardware security key for two-step authentication.
