Dorothy Jean Davidson Weller
Dorothy Jean (Davidson) Weller, 77, a former Stevens Point resident and the mother of movie and televison actor
Peter Weller, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002, at her residence in Atlanta, Ga. She was convalescing from an illness
suffered while visiting in Toronto, Canada.
A graveside service will be held at noon Wednesday in Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Bill Head Funeral Home, Duluth Chapel, in Duluth, Ga., assisted with arrangements.
Mrs. Weller was born Jan. 19, 1924, in St. Joseph, Mo., a daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Ward) Davidson.
The family moved about 1930 to Stevens Point where her parents taught in the school system. She graduated from
P.J. Jacobs High School.
She was married to Frederick B. Weller in 1943 while he was a U.S. Army Air Corps bombardier.
After World War II, they settled in Stevens Point until Frederick returned to military service. He retired as a
lieutenant colonel in Mineral Wells, Texas, in 1968, after serving in Korea, Vietnam and Germany. The family resided
in Heidelberg, Germany; Mineral Wells, Texas; San Antonio, Texas; Fort Sill, Okla.; Fort Benning, Ga.; and Fort
Worth, Texas.
After his retirement, they resided in Mineral Wells and then Fort Worth, Texas. He died in a farm accident in 1986.
She then moved to Atlanta.
Survivors include two sons, Michael and Peter; one sister, Esther (Jerry) Smith, Tucson, Ariz.; local in-laws,
including Willett Patrick (Leone) Weller, Stevens Point. |
