From the unimaginable highs of multi-million selling records to the almost devastating lows of illness, Anastacia has seen it all since she released her debut album. It is a story that has taken her round the world, given her the strength to overcome almost any obstacle thrown in her path and seen Anastacia emerge as one of pop's most respected performers.

The year 2000 saw Anastacia's debut album Not That Kind sell over 5 million copies worldwide, instantly making her a global superstar. As well as being the new millennium, it was also the start of what would be Anastacia's remarkable career.

Born in Chicago and raised in New York, Anastacia has been a singer for as long as she can remember and spent years performing wherever she could. Unsurprisingly, she was spotted and immediately signed to Epic records.

Her debut album exploded throughout Europe, propelling her to immediate stardom. Her 2002 release, Freak Of Nature, saw her recording career go from strength-to-strength and, since then, Anastacia has sold an incredible 20 million albums worldwide. She has also scored an impressive 12 hit singles, three of them top ten smash hits, won countless international awards and completed a major UK tour. With her huge voice and infectious personality, fans fell in love with her because she was loud, brash and in your face, but also grounded, passionate and true - something that is always reflected in her music.

In January 2003, Anastacia announced that she had breast cancer. Typically, she indicated that it would not stop her from achieving her dreams and she threw herself into her work, appearing on a closed set in New York for the filming of Love Is A Crime for the Chicago soundtrack. During the difficult months that followed, Anastacia sang and wrote with a passion she had never known before and, by the autumn, she emerged as the survivor everyone already suspected she was.

Anastacia returned to the studio and, in September 2004, released a self-titled album that reflected the reality of her life's experiences. With tracks such as Left Outside Alone and Sick-n-Tired, Anastacia bared her soul and let her fans into her most personal thoughts. She went on to sell an amazing 1.2 million copies in the UK and was certified platinum with the sixth best selling album of the year.

After such a life-changing period, in 2005 Anastacia decided to celebrate her achievements to date by releasing her ultimate greatest hits collection Pieces Of A Dream. It was a fitting summary to an exceptional era in her life.

Still incredibly driven creatively and a lover of fashion, in August 2006 Anastacia went on to create her own distinct clothing range within the S Oliver fashion label. Her designs proved to be highly popular, with the first range instantly selling out, leaving fans demanding more...hence her fourth range for the clothing line is set to debut in February next year.

Anastacia is currently songwriting, with plans to launch a new record for 2008 and a tour to follow. An indication that the world can still expect plenty more from the little lady with the big, big voice.
