Australia is facing a real threat.  Large and small businesses that are in or support the resources sector are deferring projects
and/or moving their business overseas.

Its happening now.

The problems are real:

• The government is making it MORE DIFFICULT and MORE RISKY, and is imposing NEW TAXES on mining companies, forcing them to lower cost areas of the world.   They are moving overseas to countries and projects that will compete against Australia’s for decades to come.  Other countries have governments that look to the future.  Ours just looks down the road to the next election.
• Other countries have policies or concessions to attract industry.  Why don’t we?

ANDEV promotes and calls for:

1. The creation of a ‘Northern Economic Zone’ that will offer tax advantages to attract and retain individuals and companies.
   • No Henry Resource “Super Tax” (or similar)
   • Lower personal income tax or tax rebates for those who live and work in the Northern Zone
   • Lowered / eliminated payroll tax
   • No FBT
2. Policies that welcome and attract investment
3. Policies that enable growth
4. The creation of attractive towns or cities in these remote zones away from capital cities, that attract people and support businesses for the long haul.
