ODESSA, Ukraine (AFP) - The mother of US Hollywood star Sylvester Stallone, of 1980s blockbusters Rocky and Rambo fame, is on the trail of her late grandmother in Ukraine, she told a press conference in the southern port of Odessa.

An astrologer by profession, Jacqueline Stallone, who introduced herself as "the world's most famous astrologer," said her grandmother, Rosa Labovich, had emigrated to Washington DC from pre-revolutionary Russia, to which Odessa and Ukraine once belonged.

However, her grandmother had never specifically mentioned Odessa to her, Stallone said, flanked by her fifth husband who accompanied her on her trip. But during a visit to the Soviet Union in the 1980s she was told about an Odessa trail "by the KGB," she added, without specifying why it took her so long to come here.

Stallone, who arrived here Thursday and plans to stay until Sunday, met Friday with the city's mayor, Ruslan Bodelan. She said she thought Odessa was "very romantic."
