Wall space gallery, in support of Pacific Pride Foundation, presents its new exhibition “Behind the Lens: Photography of Tipper Gore.”
The exhibition, on view from October 1-5, will showcase photographs never before shown to the public. “Behind the Lens” hopes to highlight Gore’s view on people, different cultures, and the vibrancy of the human spirit. The exhibit will include 24 photographs featuring both famous and ordinary people and celebrate first her participation in a march to support AIDS research over 20 years ago.
All proceeds from the sales of Gore’s images directly benefit Pacific Pride Foundation’s 24th Annual Heart+ Sole AIDS Walk. The mission of Pacific Pride Foundation is to advocate for The lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer community; care for people living with HIV; and prevent the transmission of HIV.

Gore’s passion for photography dates back to the early 1970s, with the gift of a 35mm Yashica. She soon became a part‐time photographer for the Nashville Tennessean, and after moving to Washington, DC, free-lanced for such publications as The Washington Post and the Washington Star. Her photojournalism has been a crucial element in her advocacy efforts, as she works to raise awareness by putting faces with the statistics. Her work has been exhibited in galleries, museums, and publications, and can be viewed at tippergore.com.
Wall space gallery is located at 116 E. Yanonali St. in the Funk Zone. The gallery is open Tues.-Sat. 11 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sun. noon-5 p.m. and by appointment. For more information, call 805/637-3898.
