ELECTING PROGRESSIVE LEADERS

The Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC (CPC PAC) has a mission of electing strong, progressive leaders to Congress who share the Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC’s vision for America’s future. Below are just some of the issues CPC PAC will be focusing on in the 2022 election cycle.

Fighting for Budgets that Invest in America

Hardworking Americans deserve a budget that invests in them. This means eliminating the arbitrary spending caps imposed by the Republicans in Congress that are crippling the nation’s economy. It also means raising sufficient revenue to invest in repairing our infrastructure, improving education for students of all ages, supporting debt-free college, modernizing our energy systems, and keeping our communities safe.

Protecting and Expanding Social Security

22 million people rely on Social Security to keep them from slipping into poverty. CPC PAC is dedicated to standing up for this critical program and the Americans it supports. This includes keeping it out of the hands of Wall Street, fighting for protections against benefit garnishment as result of student loan debt, and expanding benefits.

Support for Raising the Minimum Wage

Today in America, a full-time time minimum wage employee with a family of three earns 21 percent below the federal poverty line. That is unacceptable. No one who works full time should live in poverty. CPC PAC supports raising the Federal minimum wage from $7.25 to $15 an hour over the next several years.

Fighting for Campaign Finance Reform

The Supreme Court’s infamous ruling in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission opened our election system to a flood of untraceable corporate money that has presented an unprecedented risk to our democracy. CPC PAC believes that money is not speech, corporations are not people, and that democracy in our country should never be for sale.

Trade Deals That Protect Jobs and Put American Workers First

Congressional Progressive Caucus PAC believes trade deals should always put American workers first and have an emphasis on environmental, consumer, and human rights protections. As income inequality continues to climb to historic heights, now is the time to protect American jobs, not send them overseas.

Demanding Health Care As A Human Right

The passage of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) meant expanded coverage and access to affordable, quality health care for millions of Americans. At the same time, millions more of our fellow citizens remain uninsured. CPC PAC is committed to building on the successes of the ACA, so that we can lower premiums and out-of-pocket costs, cover more Americans, and ensure that greedy pharmaceutical and health insurance companies can’t put their profits above your health. We’ll also keep fighting for Medicare for All, because we believe that health care is a human right.
