The Locations and Devices sections of your site’s traffic analytics will give you insight into where your visitors are coming from (geographically) and what types of devices they’re using to access your site. In this guide, you will learn how to access these features.

The Locations section of your site stats provides information on where your site traffic is coming from, geographically. You can break the traffic down by country, region, or city.

To view the geographical location of the traffic to your site, follow these steps:

  1. Visit your site’s dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Stats on the sidebar (or Jetpack → Stats if using WP Admin).
  3. Scroll to the Locations card.

By default, you will see the Countries view. Sites on the WordPress.com Premium plan or higher can view traffic by Regions and Cities by clicking on the corresponding buttons.

If we cannot determine your visitor’s location, their visit will not be included in the Countries view. Not all visitors who visit your site will have their location enabled in their browsers. Some visitors might access your site through an incognito browser or a Virtual Private Network (VPN).

Devices

This section of the guide applies to sites with our WordPress.com Premium, Business, and Commerce plans, and the legacy Pro plan. For sites on the Free or Personal plans, upgrade your plan to access this feature.

The devices section of your stats shows you details about the devices used to access your site. This information can be helpful in testing how your site looks across the most popular devices used to visit.

To view what devices, browser, and operating system your visitors are using, follow these steps:

  1. Visit your site’s dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Stats on the sidebar (or Jetpack → Stats if using WP Admin).
  3. Scroll to the Devices card.

By default, you will see the screen Size of the devices visiting your site. You can toggle between Browser and Operating System (OS) by clicking the corresponding buttons.
