𝗘𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗶𝗴𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 — 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗼𝗻𝗴 On Global Accessibility Awareness Day #GAAD Shawn Lawton Henry shared highlights of a recent program in Hong Kong arranged by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) of the U.S. Department of State U.S. Speaker Program in partnership with CareER Association in Hong Kong. Shawn addressed topics such as digital accessibility as a business imperative, supporting organizations in advancing digital accessibility, and approaches for disability advocates — in sessions hosted by CareER, Societe Generale, and the Joint Council for People with Disabilities, The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) 香港社會服務聯會 (社聯). Shawn provided training on integrating accessibility throughout user-centered design processes and using W3C resources at events hosted by MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node; The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Department of Computer Science & Engineering, with human-computer interaction (HCI) students and professors; City University of Hong Kong Department of Computer Science (CS) and School of Creative Media (SCM); and Arts with the Disabled Association Hong Kong. W3C and WAI look forward to continuing to share information and gather information in the Asia Pacific region and throughout the world. See our in-progress draft accessibility Guidance on Applying WCAG 2.2 to Mobile Applications (WCAG2Mobile). It describes how Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 principles, guidelines, and success criteria can be applied to mobile applications, including native mobile apps, mobile web apps, and hybrid apps using web components inside native mobile apps. We welcome your input on this developing resource. This draft uses expand/collapse functionality to help you compare specific WCAG and WCAG2ICT requirements with wording in this document for mobile apps. We would particularly like your comments on the following: - Does structuring the guidance using expand/collapse functionality work for you? - Is the mobile accessibility guidance wording easy to understand and not ambiguous? - Is there anything missing in the approach we've taken for the mobile accessibility guidance?
