Growing up in a family connected with the Salvation Army, Leslie demonstrated exceptional academic abilities from an early age.
His academic prowess earned him acceptance to nearly every elite university he applied to, including Harvard, Stanford, and Princeton. At just 15 years old, he scored a perfect 1600 on his SATs. Eventually, he moved back to live with his parents in Phoenix, convincing them to take out a $15,000 loan for a production studio.
Leslie's professional music career began in earnest during the summer of 2003 when he landed a production internship with producer Younglord.
